These programs are for the student who wishes to prepare themselves to enter the Printing career field (Graphic Arts/Printing). They provide entry level, industry validated, "hands-on" training that will prepare the student to enter and be successful in the Printing industry job market. Studies include: shop skills, layout, design, composition, desktop publishing (IBM compatible and Macintosh), camera work, press operation, bindery and preventive maintenance.
The AAS degree program includes additional academic, management, and supervision courses. The technical content of both programs is basically the same. Printing specilization (pre-press, desktop publishing, press and bindery) or up-date training is available in either program. Interactive computer aided training is used to enhance some courses.
The instructional staff has an average of 15 years field and teaching experience. Their technical expertiseis kept current by attending update seminars, trade shows, and manufacturer training.
