The Industrial Technology Department is an operating entity of Central Texas
College which provides vocational courses leading to a Certificate of Completion
and/or Associate of Applied Science Degree in Automotive Repair, Auto Collision
Repair, Diesel Repair, Maintenance Technology/Building Trades, Heating and Air
Conditioning Service and Repair, Graphics and Printing Technology, Welding, Cosmetology
and Truck Driving. Small Engine Repair courses are under the Industrial Technology
Department but are not taught at Central Campus. Heating, Air Conditioning and
Refrigeration, as well as Graphics and Printing classes, are also taught at the
Gatesville Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) site.
Goal: "Central Texas College shall provide quality Instructional programs that will prepare students to fully participate in educational, occupational, economic, and social
opportunities. These include Certificates and/or Degree Programs in General educational
and Occupational and Technology; University Transfer, Developmental Education,
Adult and Continuing Education; Skills Training and Workforce Development Programs;
Special and Enriched Education; and Adult Literacy and Basic Skills Education."
Our three main objectives are to:
Provide an up-to-date curricula districtwide that fosters student goal
attainment, meets changing requirements, reflects changes in Industrial Technology,
and incorporates development of SCANS and communication skills.
Employ and retain faculty who, at a minimum, meet the qualification
requirements set by accrediting associations and regulatory bodies.
Meet the educational, occupational, and developmental needs
of a diverse student population.
